ENCOUNTERS
16 AUGUST 2007
Last night, the premiere of ABC's new television show,
Pushing Daisies, was hosted at the 'Hollywood Forever Cemetery'. I attended the occasion hoping to congratulate Anna Friel on her brilliant new role, or perhaps catch a glimpse of her strolling by. Anna's family was there to support her, including David and Gracie. After the screening, I walked over to where they were seated and gave David a tap on the shoulder. I was excited when he turned around and I nervously managed to introduce myself representing 'Thewlis Rox.'
David confirmed that he visits our website! David and Anna are both wonderful and I was very honored and overjoyed to have met them at last. I've posted an entry at the
discussion board with details of everything that occured at the event, including meeting David and Anna.
David, from the staff members and myself here at 'Thewlis Rox' - We are flattered, grateful, honored and thankful for your kind words and sincerity. Thank you so much for that unforgettable moment and for taking the time to let us know that you visit our website.
Below are a few pictures that were taken at the event. I quickly asked for David's permission if we could re-post them here and he said 'yes'.
Of course, thank you to Dave (administrator of
Anna Friel's Official Website) who passed along information to us regarding the event.
Thank you David and Anna. Thank you.

25 OCTOBER 2007
I attended the 2008 'International Festival of Authors' in Toronto, Canada, where David read from his novel,
The Late Hector Kipling. After his reading, David met with fans and signed copies of his novel and posed for photographs with his admirers. Basically, David was a complete sweetheart and a gentleman. He signed and personalized each of our books and even wrote an extra message in mine for me and sent his greetings to 'Thewlis Rox'. Then he posed for a picture with me, which I really appreciated because the lines were long and there was only a short time left before the event was over. Photographs are below, you may read my full report at the
discussion board.

I had another wonderful opportunity to meet Anna Friel at the 2008 Paley Festival in Los Angeles. I wrote a full report of the panel for Anna's Official
discussion board if anyone is interested in reading about the event. A few pictures have been uploaded below (these photos are exclusive to 'Thewlis Rox' and Anna's website, please do not re-post them elsewhere). Thank you so much Anna for spending time with me after the panel, I'm very grateful!

26 JULY 2008
Tannim and I were able to meet Anna Friel at the
Pushing Daisies panel at ComicCon a couple of days ago. We covered the event for Anna Friel's
Official Website and typed up a full summary of the panel for her
discussion board. A few teaser photos are below, visit the
gallery or
forum to view the entire folder. These photos are exclusive to both ‘Thewlis Rox' and Anna's website, please do not re-post them elsewhere, thank you.

Anna, we cannot thank you enough for the moment you spent with us after the panel!
Special thanks to both Alex and JoJo from 'ASIFA Hollywood' who provided us with passes to attend this sold out event.

The screening in Indianapolis was absolutely fantastic. We’ve written several reports at the
discussion board recapping the event. Photos and videos will be on their way soon! We did get to meet and speak with David for quite some time! David, thank you so much, we cannot explain how unbelievably appreciative we are. There are no words to describe how much that treasured moment at the reception meant to all of us. On behalf of your fans here at ‘Thewlis Rox’, the staff, and myself, we are truly honored.

Many thanks to Margaret Henney, who arranged our press passes for the screening that allowed us to take photos and cover video footage of the entire premiere. Of course, a very big thank you to Mandi and Tannim for picking me up (and dropping me off) from the airport and arranging our car/hotel/tickets, I’m very grateful to you both.

22 OCTOBER 2008
Sam (Jivefish) and I attended "Reel Talk with Stephen Farber" for a screening of
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas at the 'Wadsworth Theatre' in Los Angeles. David was the guest speaker for the event and answered questions from audience members and shared many of his experiences regarding being on-set and making the film. David asked us to meet him on the side of the stage after the Q&A session and we met and spoke with him briefly. Again, we are tremendously honored David, thank you!

discussion board.

I traveled to New York to attend one of the final screenings of
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas at the 'IFC Center'. In attendance for the post-film Q&A were John Boyne (Author), Mark Herman (Director), David Heyman (Producer), Vera Farmiga and David. I've posted a report recapping the event at the
discussion board. I was able to meet and speak with David very briefly after the panel and we took another photo together.

David, its been an honor and a privilege to spend time with you multiple times these past few weeks. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude!

11 JUNE 2009
I've recently attended three events in Los Angeles to report exclusive coverage for Anna Friel's Official
Website and support Anna and her latest film,
Land of the Lost. Events include the
Land of the Lost premiere in Hollywood (
30 May 2009),
The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (
08 June 2009), and
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (
11 June 2009). To read all three reports, click on the dates above or please head over to Anna's Official
discussion board. During Anna's interviews with both
Conan and
Craig, she mentions David and Gracie quite often.
I was able to meet and speak with Anna after her interview on Craig Ferguson's show (
11 June 2009) and as always, she was extremely friendly and welcoming! I want to thank her very much for spending time with me, I am flattered and eternally grateful for her kindness. Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation,
thank you so much Anna!

As promised, I've made a video blog about my trip experience (photos are available in the
gallery). Videos are quite lengthy (2.5 hours!) now you can imagine why I didn't type it all up, its much easier to record and display the emotions I felt during the trip. It took me a lot of courage to make these videos, as you'll see, this is my first time being very open about several topics, and I am aware that millions can have access to these videos, so I did take caution while discussing my personal life or the encounters I had with David, Anna, and the Friel Family.
It is my personal decision to not disclose, expose, or reveal any details surrounding the Gala Night after party, the conversations I had with Anna's family, or any other topics regarding that night. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Friel Family, and I refuse to cross the boundaries of privacy. The family gave me their trust, and I will honor that promise. Please do not send me emails or comments asking for further details of the after party, they will remain unopened and disposed of.

06/09 JANUARY 2010
First and foremost, congratulations and well-done to the entire cast of
Breakfast at Tiffany's for a fantastic run and final performance. Our group gave them a well-deserved standing ovation and we wish them all the very best in the future. Hoping at the moment, Anna is having a relaxing rest at home with her family before her next projects begin production.
We all had a wonderful time together, and it was brilliant to re-unite with all the members of Anna Friel's
Official Website and enjoy a great evening. For the first time, the entire Site staff (myself, Dave, and Tannim) and fellow members of 'Thewlis Rox' were altogether for an event - something I never thought was possible to happen someday (since we all reside in different parts of the World). I do truly hope that someday in the future, we can all have this opportunity again for both Site families to be together.
Unfortunately, David was not present on the final night. But we wanted to thank him for the time he spent with us the day we arrived on January sixth.
All photos from our trip to London have been added to the
gallery and
discussion board, previews below;
